Is he right?
Partly I think. One thing the temporary ban has done is explode and expose the hysterical reaction of the Trump haters. All Trump is doing is following Obama with actions he set in motion. The 7 countries chosen were chosen by the Obama admin. Trump is also forcing congress to engage and do their job (while exposing RINO's in the process.)
Some decent people will be adversely affected, but that's true anytime you try to solve a problem that's been allowed to fester. To the left, Trump is Hitler no matter what he does.

A populist President enforcing his predecessor's overreach? This is a rerun of the Tariff of Abominations.
The thing about tariffs is they need to be focused and temporary. They aren't just a case of all good or all bad. The principle in game theory is tit-for-tat which maximizes results in a multiplayer scenario. Bad actors must be punished but only for as long as it takes to get them to cooperate. At the same time you try to minimize the impact on anyone else (or you become the bad actor.)
