Software could make it unbeatable

Drones suck at aerial combat.

...or is it drone operators? Imagine if the drone had a fight mode where software took complete control, until switched off, that was written by game programmers? Top gun meet robo-top gun.

A software controlled dogfighter would not be particularly clever in how it flies, but could have a wickedly tight OODA loop.
